At KLOOTCH, we do not prioritize efficiency or cost above all else,

but instead focus on creating leather jackets that are carefully made and meant to be worn for many years.

KLOOTCHとしての基準と責任を持って製作しています

 

From design and pattern making to construction and final finish,

every product is created under our own standards and responsibility as KLOOTCH.

KLOOTCHのレザージャケットは

僕自身が最高だと思える革を、国内のタンナーに依頼して制作していただいた

オリジナルレザーを中心に使用しています

 

KLOOTCH leather jackets are made primarily from original leathers,

developed in collaboration with domestic tanneries using materials we truly believe are the best.

 

その革の特性を最大限に活かすため

デザイン、パターン（作図）、サンプル作成、縫製方法に至るまで

すべて自社で設計しています

 

To bring out the full potential of these leathers,

all aspects of design — from pattern making and sample development

to defining sewing and construction methods — are handled in-house.

国内のレザージャケットブランドでは

デザインのみを行い、パターンメイキングや縫製は外部に委託するという

分業の形が一般的です

 

In the leather jacket industry,

it is common for brands to focus on design while outsourcing pattern making and production.

 

分業によるものづくりは効率的である一方

工程が分かれることで、シルエットや着心地、縫製仕様といった

細かな部分まで詰めていくことが難しくなる場合もあります

 

While this approach is efficient,

it can make it difficult to refine details such as silhouette, fit,

and construction nuances.

 

KLOOTCHでは、パターンやサンプル製作まで自ら行うことで、

細部に至るまでイメージを共有し

納得がいくまでものづくりを詰めることができると考えています

 

By creating patterns and samples ourselves,

we are able to share a clear vision throughout the process

and refine every detail until we are fully satisfied.

パターンは一度で完成させることはほとんどありません

着用を重ねながら何度も修正を行い

シルエット、可動域、着心地のバランスを整えていきます

 

A pattern is rarely completed on the first attempt.

Through repeated fitting and adjustments,

we fine-tune balance, mobility, and comfort.

 

縫製においても、革製品にとって重要なのは

「ただ丈夫に縫うこと」ではなく

革に余計な負担をかけないことだと考えています

 

When it comes to stitching,

strength alone is not enough —

leather does not forgive unnecessary needle holes.

 

針穴は一度開けると戻りません

そのため、ステッチのピッチや幅を調整し

見た目と耐久性のバランスが最も良くなるよう制作します

 

Once a needle hole is made, it cannot be undone.

For this reason, we carefully control stitch pitch and width

to achieve the best balance between durability and appearance.

「これでいい」ではなく

「これがいい」と胸を張って言えるレザージャケットを

 

Rather than creating something that is merely acceptable,

we aim to create jackets we can confidently say are right.

About BRUNEL&Co.HATMAKERS

 

KLOOTCHのレザージャケットを製作する過程で

ジャケットには使えないが、捨てるには惜しい大きさの革が出てしまいます

 

During the process of making KLOOTCH leather jackets,

there were pieces of leather too small for jackets, yet too valuable to discard.

 

その革をどう活かすのか

そこから、BRUNEL&Co.HATMAKERSは始まりました

 

How could this leather be used?

That question marked the beginning of BRUNEL&Co.HATMAKERS.

 

過去に、国内のメンズ帽子専門ブランドで数年間働き

帽子の構造や形、作り方を学んできた経験があります

 

I previously worked for several years at a Japanese men’s hat brand,

where I learned hat construction, shapes, and techniques

from my former boss, who continues to mentor me both professionally and personally.

 

その経験を活かし

帽子を革で表現することを選びました

 

Drawing on that experience,

I chose to express hats through leather.

 

最初に手を付けたのは、レザーのベースボールキャップです

 

The first piece I worked on was a leather baseball cap.

 

布帛と革の違いに戸惑い

当然、最初から形になるはずもなく

今のシルエットにたどり着くまでに

少なく見積もっても10回以上のサンプルを作り直しています

 

Adjusting from fabric to leather was not easy,

and it was far from successful at first.

To reach the current silhouette,

I made and remade samples more than ten times.

 

完成したサンプルを自分で被ってみると

想像以上にしっくりきました

 

When I finally tried on the finished sample myself,

it felt far better than I had expected.

 

周りからの反応も良く

そのままブランドとして立ち上げることにしました

 

The positive response from people around me

encouraged me to launch the brand.

 

当初は、ベースボールキャップやキャスケットなど数型のみを

すべて一人で製作していました

 

In the beginning, I made only a few styles such as baseball caps and casquettes,

producing everything on my own.

 

ですが現在は、数年前から仲間に加わってくれたスタッフたちが

日々真剣に帽子づくりと向き合ってくれています

 

Today, with the help of dedicated staff who joined me several years ago,

we work together on hat production every day.

 

今では、ごく一部の難易度が高い工程や最終の仕上げを除き

製品のほとんどの製作はスタッフが担っています

 

Now, aside from a few highly technical processes and the final finishing,

most of the production is handled by the team.

Comfort, silhouette,

and the unique aging that only leather can offer.
